Zotero plugin in MS Word not working

Hi all,

I used Zotero to add a few references to my document. My boss had a look at it and sent it back to me. When I click Zotero Insert citation I get this error.

"Zotero experienced an error updating your document.

[zoteroWinWordIntegration Exception... "This command is not available because no document is open." code: "0" function: "zoteroWinWordApplication::GetDocument" location: ".\zoteroWinWordApplication.cpp"]"

However I can add references when I open a brand new word document. I use Zotero Standalone on a Windows 7 computer.

Can anyone help me fix this?

    Try copy and pasting the document into a new file.

    I'm interested in what's causing this, though. What's the file's name? Do you have two files with the same name open simultaneously?

    The name of the file is July26.docx. The file name is unique and another document of the same name is not open. Me and my boss communicate through emails. I work on the document, send it to him as an email. He adds his comments and sends it back.

    Is copy pasting the only way I can solve this problem?

    copy&paste doesn't do any harm, so why not try?
