IEEE modification

  • no, you cannot easily make bulk changes in the database - it's in an sqlite format that's more complicated to modify than a text file.
  • Try downloading the translator again. It should cover everything you've noted thusfar.

The modification made to the IEEE%20Xplore.js file worked pretty well for a long while. Thanks again for that. After re-installing Zotero in a new PC, I've noticed that the old behaviour come again to live. I guess that your .js file was not included in the official release. What a mess!

Unfortunately, also the link you've posted is broken. Could you please share again the file? Is it possible to have it included in the official release?
  • the old translator is here:
    https://github.com/ajlyon/zotero-bits/raw/master/old-translators/IEEE%20Xplore.js
but I'd recommend sticking with the new one - it contains a lot of other fixes and generally better data. I'll try to get to including the name-switching asap.
  • Thanks, I'll use the new one waiting for the name-switching fix.

    Thanks a lot again.
  • The fix is now in the new translator. Zotero will update automatically within 24hs or you can update immediately from the general tab of the Zotero preferences.
(I used the exact code snippet from ajlyon, so the behavior should be the same).
  • Thanks for the reply. Could you please specify me how to manually update the translator? In the Zotero preferences there is nothing to do this.

    Thanks.
  • There is an "Update Now" button next to the "Automatically update translators" in the general tab of the Zotero preferences. click it.
  • Thanks, it works properly.
