Libraries MISSING, not sync icon on page

I just updated to the new zotero for firefox after realizing how user unfriendly the stand-alone with chrome is. I also just included the word plugin.
When I log in, the zotero screen is odd. First, my libraries are not listed (my ENTIRE PHD DISSERTATION IS IN THESE FILES!!!), and there is not the green sync icon for me to sync with the servers.

I NEED THESE LIBRARIES. They are well over a years worth of work. I am finalizing a paper for PNAS, and I NEED THOSE CITATIONS. I'm freaking the f-out right now!!!
  • PLEASE...I THINK THIS IS THE LINK TO WHERE MY LIBRARY WAS. IS THERE ANY WAY TO RECOVER THIS. I'M TOTALLY FUC*ED IF NOT.

  • I don't have time to troubleshoot you entirely through this, but unless you've manually deleted your Zotero profile directory you're likely to be fine.

Before you try anything, though, it would be a very good idea to make a backup of your hard drive if that's possible.

The second thing to do is try to locate your Zotero profile directory. Do you still have Zotero Standalone installed? Does it show your library if you open it?
  • I Had to reinstall the OS, so the stand alone was deleted. Since all files were online, I did not feel the need to back it up.
  • Sorry, if you don't have a local back-up and you don't see the data online that's it and there is no way to bring them back. That's why we warn against using sync as a back-up solution:

wish I could tell you something better.
