Zotero toolbar missing

When I open the Zotero pane by clicking on the Zotero button at the bottom of the page, the tool bar at the top of that pane (the one that has the gear, preferences, add new entry, etc) is missing.

The vertical scroll bar for the middle section is missing as well, meaning that I have to open it to a full page in order to see the bottom entry.

How can I get these features back?

    Restart Firefox and try again.

    If you still have trouble, take a screenshot, upload it somewhere (e.g., imageshack.us), and post a link here.

    It only happens when I click on a link that opens a new window (such as when i click the link to a full text article). In this new window, the Zotero pane is incomplete, while in the original Firefox window, the Zotero pane has all of its regular features.

    I partially solved it in that if I right click and specify "open link in new window" or "open link in new tab," then all of the features come up normally.

    Restarting Firefox made no difference. Also, I took a screenshot, but i guess i dont know how to upload it onto imageshack. sorry!

    go to imageshack.us - it's easy to figure out. You don't need to register.

    Once I take a screenshot, I guess I only know how to paste it into a word doc. Imageshack doesn't recognize .doc files. Im so sorry, I feel technologically impared!

    OK, don't worry about the screenshot, then. This is a known issue. We might fix it at some point (I actually thought we did once before) but just don't use Zotero in such windows or use your workaround.

    And really, it should only be a small subset of such new windows, when the site itself requests a new window without toolbars.

    I am running zotero but do not have a toolbar. why is this? I have used in IE and Firefox! What is missing? why does it not come with Zotero automatically? thanks! Kathleen

    please start a new thread and provide more details. It's unclear where you expect to see a Zotero toolbar, whether you have Zotero installed, whether you have Zotero installed in Firefox or as a Standalone version etc. Also see here: http://www.zotero.org/support/quick_start_guide
