Different styles for citation (in brackets) and for bibliography possible?

Is it possible to have for example the citation style "American anthropological association (means author - year) for the citation in the text and the style "Vancouver" for the bibliography?

This is why I'm asking:
I'd like to have the citation for the text in one style (author et al. year) and the bibliography in the "Vancouver" style.
As the document is huge, I cannot change manually the styles.

Thank in advance
  • While it's not possible to use two citation styles in a document, it's not particularly hard to adjust citation styles - i.e. in your case to create a new citation style with the AAA format for citations and a Vancouver bibliography:

That said - are you sure you want to do that? (and if so - why?) Combining an author-date citation style with a bibliography format that is a) sorted by order of appearance and b) doesn't have the year next to the author (both are the case for Vancouver) is a terrible idea.
  • Thanks for your advise. I'm told to use the Vancouver style, but it has to be sorted alphabetically...
I tried changing the style but I didn't succeed. Now I don't know what to do next.
    ... :(
  • some people find it easier to work with this
