Attachment problem

I recently moved my library from Endnote to Zotero and am in the process of updating my entries, and making any necessary repairs. Part of this involves reattaching pdf files. All was going well until this morning. Now it seems that one pdf file in particular has been attached to ALL my entries - along with the pdf file that's supposed to be there. When I click on "view file" I get the pdf that I'm supposed to, but in the space above the "view file" button on the attachments page I see the file name for the pdf that has latched on to all the entries. When I click it, I'm invited to change its name to match the name of the file I'm currently interested in. I don't want to do that. I need this file, I just don't need it showing up everywhere.

Does anyone have any idea what I did to cause this and how I can undo it?

Thanks, Susan

PS: (I wish I could send a picture of what I'm seeing, but I don't know how.)

  • mmmm, maybe I missed something in that discussion thread, but I saw only continued problems, no solutions .. has this problem been resolved?

We've never been able to reproduce it, so no, unfortunately not.

If you have any additional info, feel free to post it to that thread.
  • I did find a string of errors, many of them having something to do with "not well formed files" (whatever that means). I reported them, and received the following report ids

78662270 and 1463852369 (My apologies for the duplication error reports .. I went back to find the language of the errors and inadvertently sent in a second report).
  • These traveling pdf file names are also showing up on links to urls .. Its like a file name gets "stuck" in the system and won't go away ..

The descriptions that came in from users on the other discussion thread http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/655/
are spot on: this is precisely what I'm seeing too.
  • OK, closing this discussion, then. Follow-up on the other thread if necessary. We'll continue to look into it. Thanks.
