Compatibility of Firefox 13

Since I have updated Firefox to 13.01 I don't see the "saving a website" icon in the address bar. The "book" icon still appears and works with Google Books links, though.

Do I miss a setting or what might cause this issue?

Thanks,
Gerhard
(still newbie with Z)
  • If you still see the book link this isn't a compatibility issue.
There typically is no "saving a website" icon in the address bar - what is a link where you used to see one but don't anymore?
(You can save a website by clicking on "Create New Item from Current Page" in Zotero or using right click --> Zotero --> Create New Item from Current Page on the page you want to save.
  • Thanks, adamsmith,
for the hint with thr right click -- I wasn't aware of it but of course this helps as well. In a previous version of Z or FF I think I did have different icons in the address bar, ie. if I remember right, for book, article, and website ...

  • Zotero will display an item in the URL bar if it supports a site - that includes google book, amazon, many libraries, as well as article databases and journal publishers. Those imports will typically be of high quality and include full bibliographic information.
For unsupported sites Zotero offers the right-click option, which only imports basic information on a website that will require manual editing before you can use it for citations.
