Project Muse Translator for Chrome

Hi guys! I have trouble finding discussions about Project Muse translator for Chrome in the forum. Do we have a solution now? Thanks a lot.
  • The Project Muse translator works with the Chrome connector. If it doesn't for you, we'd need more details.
  • Thanks for the reply! I am kind of new to this, so not sure what sort information you need...here is some details:

    1. I use Zotero standalone and Chrome;
    2. I use JSTOR without logging in to index documents, but the yellow folder is working;
    3. I use Project Muse without logging in either, but there's no yellow folder...
    4. I saved the js file to the following folder in my pc: C:\Users\l\AppData\Roaming\Zotero\Zotero\Profiles\dfoc5blu.default\zotero

    So how can I proceed to fix the problem? Thanks a lot for your help!
  • what's a project muse sample URL you're looking at?
    Is the problem just search results or do individual items work?
    These are the three pages we test on:
    http://muse.jhu.edu/journals/past_and_present/summary/v191/191.1higonnet.html
    http://muse.jhu.edu/journals/journal_of_social_history/toc/jsh.44.4.html
    http://muse.jhu.edu/journals/eighteenth-century_studies/toc/ecs33.4.html

    The fist one is an individual item, the two others are journal TOCs. Do they work?
  • amazingly, they work!
    I was searching in the main searching engine in the front page: http://muse.jhu.edu/
  • so i was searching both books and journals at once...how can I see the yellow fold? Thanks indeed, Adam!!
  • we should be able to make that work by adjusting the translator - I'll let you know when I get to it, might be a little while.
  • Thanks a lot!!! Fyi, JSTOR is gonna launch its book searching service later this year, possibly in November.

    Excuse me, there is no marks for article while i use the Jastor.
    My Firefox and Zotero version is both the newest.
    Thank you.
  • you can only import from JSTOR when you have access. The "discover" sites don't provide any metadata or link to metadata.
  • Project Muse now works for books and more search results. I decided against downloading PDFs for books, as those downloads would have included multiple, sometimes very large PDFs.
    Your translators will update automatically within 24hs or you can update immediately from the general tab of the Zotero preferences.
