Adding entry very slow

Zotero is very slow when i want to add an item eg. from scholar.google.
It takes ~45Seconds and firefox freezes for this time. CPU usage wents up. I cleared my index and turned off index, however the problem still persists...

Any ideas how i can improve the performace?
I also noticed the same with the standalone version. My library has only ~3000 entries.

    OK, I found the problem, it is called 'autozotbib'.

    Removing this addon makes thinks muchmuchmuch faster!

    autozotbib creates a bibtex file of your entire library after adding an item - that obviously explains why things don't work well with a library once it reaches a certain size.
    I would suggest you get in touch with the developer and see if he has any ideas to improve this - clearly the current way this works makes the plugin somewhat useless, though it provides other wise neat functionality.

    I added a warning to the plugin on Zotero's plugin page a while ago.
