Change defaults in document types dropdown

Hello all,

I am trying to find out whether I can change the default document types appearing when I click on the "New Item" icon. The idea being that there are some documents I save more often than others and I'd like them to show up in the first five without having to go down the whole dropdown.

Also, it seems the document type "Web page" does not appear in that dropdown (it only appears in the dropdown if you want to change the document type directly in an item).

    That's by design. Most users should be using "Create New Item from Current Page" in Zotero for Firefox or the right-click->"Save Zotero Snapshot from Current Page" option (which will be moved to a button in a future version) when using a non-Firefox browser plugin to create a webpage item. Search the forums for further explanation of this.

    Thanks Dan! I didn't realize the dropdown list was automagically generated, so it should slowly pick up my habits I guess.

    As for the right click, I'm new to Zotero standalone (I used to have Firefox but I moved to Chromium) and well... ahem... I had missed the right click part. *facepalm*

    Not at all. It's entirely undiscoverable right now, which is why it's being moved to a button. The current location is really just a stopgap solution.
