extracting abstract

Hello, Thanks to All for working on Zotero, I know many people (including myself) who find it very useful in their daily work. Is it possible to extract the abstract of a paper? Either when (1) grabbing it from a website (within Firefox) or when (2) retrieving the citation information for its PDF previously already imported to Zotero. Or is this feature already available? If yes, then sorry, and please let me know how. Many thanks!!
  • (1) is available on many websites - if you find one where it's not let us know and we'll see what we can do.
    (2) isn't possible - the databases Zotero uses - CrossRef and GoogleScholar - don't have abstract in their data
  • Thanks, indeed, it works automatically when grabbing the paper from its website, great!

    (A) Is there a setting in Zotero that will make the entire abstract visible (either in a popup or in the right "Info" panel) when the user moves the mouse over the article in the middle panel? (B) Or maybe (alternative solution) the user could change to "Notes" in the right panel and ask Zotero to automatically add each paper's abstract as a note?

    Thanks in advance again.
  • Neither of those exists currently - copying an abstract to a note is quick, though.
