APA 6 (first name fix) and missing italics

Hi.

I´m doing my PhD with the help of Zotero and I recently noticed, that my bibliographic references are not correct --> the titles are not in italics!

I have the latest version of Zotero and the word plug in (Word 2010, Windows 7). I use the APA 6 first name fix plugin. Unfortunately neither a search in this forum, nor another word/zotero helped.

Strangely, when I start a new document, everything is fine. But my very important .docx is not... :-(

Any help or advice?

Cheers,
warfair
  • I don't know what the "APA 6 first name fix plugin" is - what do you mean by that?
  • Ok: There is a citation style I use, called "APA 6th Edition (No Firstname Fix)".

    Anyway, I did not work with the regular "American Psychological Association 6th Edition" style as well --> no italics for book titles and paper titles of journals.

    Something might went wrong with Word, I dont know. I just checked: One week before everything was fine...:-/ Help!!!
  • Ok, obviously my bibliography was corrupted, because of the first entry. I changed now the entry and everything is just fine!

    Here is the bib export of the previously first entry of my bibliography in BibTeX format:

    @book{ahlert_vernetztes_2006,
    address = {Wiesbaden},
    title = {Vernetztes Wissen: Organisationale, motivationale, kognitive und technologische Aspekte des Wissensmanagements in Unternehmensnetzwerken},
    shorttitle = {Vernetztes Wissen},
    publisher = {{DUV} Deutscher {Universitäts-Verlag}},
    author = {Ahlert, M. and Blaich, G. and Spelsiek, J.},
    year = {2006},
    file = {Google Scholar Linked Page:C:\Users\Athanasios\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\37q137iz.default\zotero\storage\E3DK5HZ8\books.html:text/html}
    }

    Any idea what went wrong?
  • it's a weird Word issue - when the first title is in italics and longer than the rest of the citation, Word flips italics in the rest of the bibliography. I don't think there is much we can do about it on the Zotero side.
