Import failed from RDF files

Hi,

I export my library through a RDF file, but when I attempt to import the file My Library.rdf I get the following error:
An error occurred while trying to import the selected file. Please ensure that the file is valid and try again.

Issue ID : 331500277

The library was on a laptop with Zotero extension for FF 3.0.7 (WinXP) and this problem occurs when I import on my new laptop (win 7) with Zotero extension 3.0.7 for FF.
In both cases, it's FF 12.0.

Thanks for your help.

  • That shouldn't happen, but don't use export/import to transfer your library.

    http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/transferring_a_library
  • text must be a string in Zotero.Item.setNote() (was undefined)
    (This should be fixed, though.)

Thanks a lot for your quick answer !

Concerning your first comment, I know I made a mistake by using export/import via RDF function.... but unfortunately I erase the hard disk where my library was.... so now I can't use the "copy library folder" way...

By the way, I don't understand your last comments.

What I should do to fix it ?

Thanks in advance for your help !
  • If you don't mind sending just the RDF file to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread, we can take a look.
By the way, I don't understand your last comments.
    Don't worry—it wasn't for you.
  • @Dan
text must be a string in Zotero.Item.setNote() (was undefined)

    (This should be fixed, though.)
Do you suggest that this gets fixed in the RDF translator, or in setNode (i.e. silently ignore notes that are undefined)?

If former, I might need to see the RDF to figure out what happened.
  • Don't know. Let's see what's in the RDF.

(Actually I thought Simon fixed this already somewhere, but maybe not.)

    Hi Dan,

I've just send to you by email the RDF file I get import problem with it.

Hope this will help to solve this issue, and my import problem !

    See you.
  • I've updated the translator to fix this issue. Zotero should automatically pull the updated translator within 24 hours. Alternatively, you can click the "Update now" button in the Zotero preferences, and then restart your browser.
