Icon to import citation not showing in URL bar

I'm working in standalone version for Mac OS 10.7.2 and Safari. When I installed Zotero in August, the icon to import citations appeared in the URL bar and I used it multiple times. Now, in Dec. I cannot find the icon and cannot download citations into my Library.

I tried downloading the connector for Safari but that did not seem to make a difference. I definitely need that icon ASAP. What can I do?

    which sites are you looking at?
    If you right-click on any website - e.g. this one - do you get Zotero options in the context menu that comes up?

    I have the exact same problem. I am also working on a Mac, in a standalone version, but through Firefox as recommended....what do I need to do

    start by answering my questions above.

    also, make sure that you also have Zotero for Firefox installed - you need that as a connection between the browser and Zotero standalone.
