downloading citations embedded in documents
I've got a copy of a document that I created together with a coworker, but the references were all in her Zotero account. Now I need to incorporate that document into a larger document, and when I try to do that some of the references (the ones that aren't in my library) tend to break.
Is there a way to just add all the citations in a document into my library, and then handle duplicate entries as normal? Otherwise I think that I'm stuck starting the larger document from a copy of the smaller one...
I'd have her export some citations and then have me import them, but I understand that would lose the linkages for the references in the document (some-odd 100 of them).

This is an old discussion that has not been active in a long time. Before commenting here, you should strongly consider starting a new discussion instead. If you think the content of this discussion is still relevant, you can link to it from your new discussion.
However, what you can do is have her check the box "Store References in Document" in the Document Preferences in the Word Plugin. That way references won't break when you integrate her document into your larger one.
The only thing you'll need to take care of is to take care of references that both she and you cite and replace them with your version.
To the best of my knowledge she did check that box (it's checked when I open the document preferences from my computer), but occasionally I'm seeing errors that say "this reference is no longer in your citation library, please select something similar" (which is difficult, when I don't have the title or authors any more).
I'll ask her to confirm, but I'll keep plugging away in the meantime. Thank you again. Also, good to know that I might have duplicate references within the document.
