Zotero crashes Firefox 12 on Windows 7

Every time i try to open the Zotero 3.0.7 extension (and automatically it starts to sync) or whenever i click on the Zotero catcher icon in the address bar then Firefox 12 crashes. What can i do?
So i cannot use Zotero on my laptop (but i really need to!), which has Windows 7; everything is fine on the pc where i work, which has Windows xp – does this mean something?
To overcome this trouble, i installed Zotero Standalone on my laptop; but the Zotero add-to icon in the Firefox address bar actually does not add anything to my Zotero Standalone library; also, when i click on the DOI button of an item of my collection then it does not go to that item online. Any advice on this?

    Those instructions may not help here. First, Mattia, do you mean "freeze" or "crash"?

    If you mean that Firefox is crashing, type about:crashes into the Firefox address bar, find a relevant crash (by looking at the timestamps), and click through one, and post the Mozilla URL here.

    Also, see if disabling auto-sync in the Sync pane of the Zotero preferences helps. You can do this via Tools -> Add-ons before actually opening the Zotero pane.

    Actually, looking at your account on the server, I see that your Zotero is just performing a large full sync of your data. Firefox will freeze while this happens (though in the current version of Zotero it's supposed to display a progress bar while this happens—not sure why that's not the case for you), so if that's what you mean, instead of force-quitting Firefox, just give it time to complete. If you mean that it's crashing, tell us how much RAM you have in your system, and try again after restarting your computer with nothing else open. (If Firefox is crashing from running out of memory, the relevant crash probably wouldn't be listed in about:crashes.)

    As of today my citations will no longer integrate into Word 2010. The footnote number comes up but the citaion does not insert into the document. I have just installed Zotfile, and renamed and transferred pdfs into zotero, could this have caused a problem? I use Zotero 3.0.7, and Firefox 12. I have also reinstalled the word add on, and rebooted. Still not working. What can i do?

    Akeroyd - please start a new thread - this is an unrelated issue. You should try to reproduce this with different citation styles and with all other add-ons (inlcuding Zotfile) disabled and post what you find in that thread.
