Style Request: Soil Biology & Biochemistry

Hello,

I'm writing a manuscript for submission to the journal Soil Biology & Biochemistry and am looking for help to create a citation style for this journal.

The closest style that is currently in the repository, that I could find, is Journal of Evolutionary Biology.

The guide for authors for Soil Biology & Biochemistry is:

The in-text citations seem to be exactly the same for Soil Biology & Biochemistry (SBB) and Journal of Evolutionary Biology (JEB).

The bibliographic style differs in the following ways:

For periodicals, SBB does not italicize the journal name, SBB does not put the the volume number in bold, SBB places a comma between the last authors first initial and the year, and a comma follows the volume number rather than a colon.

For multi-author books, SBB does not italicize the book name, places a comma between the last authors first intial and the year, places a comma after the place of publication, and the page numbers are not in parentheses.

These are the main differences that I can find. There may be more. Can anyone help create a citation style for SBB?

    I just committed a first draft of the Soil Biology & Biochemistry style. It can be found in the Zotero Style Repository (www.zotero.org/styles), or installed directly via http://www.zotero.org/styles/soil-biology-biochemistry/dev?install=1

    Hi Rintze

    I've found one small issue with the Soil Biology and Biochemistry Zotero citation style. In the citations and bibliographies, all the ampersands should be changed to "and."

    It's not a big problem, and easy to edit in word. Just thought you might like to know.

    don't edit it in words - refreshing will just change it back.

    Replaced by a style dependent on elsevier-harvard.csl.

    I was very happy to find this as I am re-submitting an article to Soil Biology & Biochemistry (SBB) on Monday. However, when I install this style using the link in Rintze's post above, the result abbreviates journal titles. SBB's format requires full journal titles, not abbreviated. Since this seems to have worked for others- Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

    That's apparently a regression introduced by noksagt above, who replaced this with the (otherwise identical) Elsevier Harvard style, so no, you're not doing anything wrong.

    I don't think I can get to this by Monday, if you want to do this yourself, fist read this:

    Then work on Elsevier's Harvard with titles (not the SBB style itself, which is just a fancy link).
    The only thing you have to do is to find each intance of
    <text variable="container-title" form="short"/>
    and delete form="short"

    Alternatively, you can download the original (CSL 0.8.1) style from https://www.zotero.org/trac/export/5582/csl/soil-biology-biochemistry.csl and install that.

    The SBB style on the repository is fixed now.
