PubMed import behaves strange

I have a problem with importing from PubMed.

When I enter some search terms in Pubmed, a list of papers shows up. I can download them perfectly fine clicking in the download icon in the search bar (that looks like a folder). If I click on one of the papers, I can download that one using (the download icon that looks like a page).

But when I enter a more precise search term, so that PubMed get's me directly to the right paper, the download icon doesn't show up. I can click on "summary" which brings me to a list of papers (with just the one paper on it), then click on the paper, and then magically the download icon shows up and it works fine.

Anyone seen that? Any ideas why that is?
  • screw you for losing a really long comment by auto-logging me out or something.

short version: this has something to do with the pubmed url "cmd=" string.

The forum software doesn't log you out—it creates a cookie that doesn't expire until the browser closes. But to be sure, check "Remember Me" when you log in.

This issue is due to the absence of the list_uids= variable in direct hits. We'll see what we can do.
