I realize that there are several sources where I can download metadata for books into Zotero. Have I overlooked a source where I can get metadata for the chapters within a book?
It seems to me that this would be a great marketing tool for publishers...at least for academic ones. I've become spoiled with the ease of capturing journal article and whole book metadata.
most of the big publishers are now putting their edited volumes online - I know this for sure about Elsevier, OUP, and Springer, but I assume it's the same for others. So for newer book chapters going to the publisher works a lot of the time.
Odd, isn't it?
That said, their data is not being captured correctly atm - see this example :
edited volume : http://www.cairn.info/les-intellectuels-et-l-occupation--9782746705401.htm
sample chapter : http://www.cairn.info/les-intellectuels-et-l-occupation--9782746705401-p-90.htm
Those chapters are appearing as journal articles - I presume the problem is with the data provided bw the portal?
<meta name="citation_journal_title" content="Mémoires/Histoire">
so Zotero sees this as a journal article. (same for the DC.type which is also journalArticle)
