ID 1025336637 ("ret is undefined"@citeproc.js:6824)

Hi, please help me. Zotero does not report an bibliography and i can not add content in Word. I run the word plugin.
  • this isn't enough info to troubleshoot:
    http://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_bugs
  • <blockquote>[JavaScript Error: "ret is undefined" {file: "chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/citeproc.js" line: 6824}]"</blockquote>

This looks like a citeproc-js error. Frank will have to take a look at it.

As a side note, you really should upgrade Firefox. Firefox 5 is outdated and insecure.
  • Actually, this could also be caused by an issue with a style. What style are you using?
  • adamsmith: i was pleased by a pop up simply report the ID then one should got support here.

simon: i´ll update firefox. harvard reference format (unisan/GBFE) - (author - date) (de)
  • The pop us says something regarding Java Script... after installing Firefox 11.0 the word add in works.

Oops. Never mind. I missed that everything cleared up with the Firefox 11 install.

@xPengx: I don't see any obvious problem with the harvard1-unisa-gbfe.csl style. The error seems to be related to a missing label phrase, but I've check the locale file (de-DE), it does contain all of the phrases used by the style.

    Please provide the following information:

    (1) Does it help to switch styles, or in a fresh document?
    (2) If you get this error with all styles or with all items you try to add to a document, there is a problem with your system.

If the problem is limited to this style and does not occur with all items, then ...

    (3) Are you running Zotero as Standalone or in Firefox? and
    (4) What version of Zotero are you running?
    (5) Finally, go through the steps here, and find the smallest set of citations that will trigger the error (I'll guess that there is one citation that is causing the problem).
  • Hi, the citation style "Harvard Reference format (Unisa / GBFE) (author-date, German)" caused the problem. after uninstalling it, the bibliography-function works.
  • If reinstalling the style causes the problem to return, please follow the link and identify the smallest set of entries that triggers it (otherwise I'll assume that the problem has been resolved).
  • https://github.com/citation-style-language/styles/blob/master/harvard1-unisa-gbfe.csl does have an XML namespace declaration (xmlns) on its cs:locale element. Could that be the culprit (I think it should be fine, but styles usually don't do it)?
