Sync impossible after online-deletion of group and heavy reorganization of personal library

After I cleared and deleted a public group I owned through the webinterface and carring out large modifications of my personal library within the standalone application, sync is completely impossible.

Report-ID: 247104774

I'm constantly getting "Please perform a full sync in the Sync->Reset pane of the Zotero preferences. (Report ID: 0da14258)". But no matter what I'm doing, sync is always stopping with this error.
I already uploaded my local database file to the online cleanup-utility. Without success.

I already thought about deleting my current account and creating a new one, but I've got purchased additional storage and I do not want to drop that.

Any help greatly appreciated. I don't want to get back to Mendeley ;-)

You don't have any items on the server, so you should be able to do a Restore to Zotero Server from the Sync->Reset pane of the Zotero preferences.

If you still get an error from that, let me know.
  • Exactly, I deleted all items via the webinterface after the first errors. The complete restore from local to the server does not work. I tried it several times. With and without file sync on. Always the same error.
  • Can you provide a Debug ID for a sync attempt that produces this?
  • Ehm... that's wired. I just did that and it works! No error. First plain sync without files (I still had that deactivated) and now a sync with data.

I guess Zotero was feared of you having a closer look into the Debug output and just decided to work ;-)

    Thanks for your time.

Probably, the problem was me not being patient enough after such big changes and some of the sync data was still in cache on the server. Or the browser cache on my side had some data cached.

Anyway. It works and I'm happy :)
  • Great. It might have been due to a small cache-related change I made on the server.
