Ordering of bibliography
Hi there,
Im having some trouble with my bibliography in APA style 6th ed (eg for references which include an author with the same surname the single author reference should come before the multiple author reference regardless of year of publication but this is not happening in my word plugin reference list). Is there any way of manually changing the order of references? I dont seem to be able to do it in the edit Bibiography option of zotero in Word. Any help would be much appreciated

To clarify, if you have (Smith 1776, Smith 2011, Smith & Marx 1848) (let's assume these are all the same Smith)
The Bibliography should look like
Smith 1776 ...
Smith 2011 ...
Smith & Marx 1848 ...
And for you it doesn't?
That'd be a bug - we'd like to see a minimal set of items that produces a wrong bibliography (i.e. at least three). Export them as Zotero RDF (right-click-->Export selected items), open the .RDF file with a text editor and paste the entire content of the file to pastebin.com or gist.github.com and provide the link here so we can have a look.
Thanks for your advice and help. My bibliography is not formatting as you suggest. Here is the link in pastebin.com

These aren't the same authors. I don't have the APA manual here, but I believe this site is correct: http://owll.massey.ac.nz/referencing/apa-reference-list.php#entry-order
"If two authors have the same surname, alphabetise them according to their first initial." Which is what Zotero does. You'll note that when you change D.A. in the first reference to D.M. they first to references switch order.
The problem is with the ordering of the last reference above and subsequent reference. The Clark 1989 reference should come after the Clark 1987 refence, but in mine it doesnt. It appears as follows:
I can't replicate this with a Clark 1989 reference I create myself - my guess would be that the author for Clark 1989 isn't input exactly the same.
I think the confusion was that I had to re-edit the Clark 1989 reference in my Word document as it is a chapter reference for an edited book. Zotero referencing didnt seem to be able to cite it with the chapter author (Clark, D. M) at the beginning of the citation - instead the editors were listed at the beginning ie it appears as:
Hawton, K. E., Salkovskis, P. M., Kirk, J. E., & Clark, D. M. (1989). Cognitive behaviour therapy for psychiatric problems: A practical guide. Oxford university press.
and it should read:
Clark, D. M. (1989). Anxiety states: panic and generalised anxiety. In Hawton, K. E., Salkovskis, P. M., Kirk, J. E., & Clark, D. M. (Eds.), Cognitive behaviour therapy for psychiatric problems: A practical guide (pp. 52-96). Oxford: Oxford University Press.
This has been an ongoing problem for me with edited books and citing specific chapters.
Also I have another query. Do you know how I can use the classic view to insert citations within Word as default rather than having to continuously select it? Im not familiar with how to use the new version.
Many thanks

(Just select and copy the entire content of the bin, then use import from clipboard)
See here for instructions on how to enter book chapters manually: http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/edited_volumes_and_book_chapters
http://www.zotero.org/support/word_processor_plugin_usage
has instructions on how to use the new plugin and also contains info (under switching to classic view) on how to permanently switch to the classic view.
Youre a life saver, thanks very much the book chapter referencing link fixes it.
cheers
