Obsessed with Zotero

I think I may be Zotero's biggest fan, despite a few shortcomings I'm dealing with regarding Chicago (e.g. multiple texts same authors in bib, lack of support for citing book chapters) - I understand most of those issues will be handled in the next release, right?

Anyway, I'd like to find an easy way to stay abreast of Zotero news and having been hunting around for a mailing list to join that might provide me with quick and easy updated information. I can't seem to find such a beast on here. Is there one? If not, there really ought to be.

Additionally, I wouldn't mind a Zotero tee-shirt - just a simple one with the name/tagline (I saw some that got a little more dramatic with graphic design, but it looked like they were contest entries or something). Are any of those available?

Thanks.
  • sarahr, welcome to the forums!

First off, I don't use Chicago, so I can't respond to the multiple texts/same authors issue.

But, if you are referring to book chapters by different authors, have you tried using the "book section" item type?

There isn't a mailing list, but you can subscribe to the forum and get email notification. (See left column).

As far as the tee-shirts, go, I don't know. Sorry.
  • @sarahr if you don't already think about subscribing to the Zotero blog. We post regularly post updates on the community there.
  • Thanks; I do follow that blog, but I guess I wanted more, more, more!
  • As far as the "book section" is concerned, I don't seem to have that as an option...
  • When you click the green icon with the + in it, "Book Section" isn't right underneath "Book"?

Or: on the Info tab, click on the space where it says "Book" and a whole bunch of item options shows up.
  • Oh, uhm...Yes, it is there, beneath book. I was under the impression that there was some sort of problem with the way book chapters were being formatted in Chicago, per a search I had done in the forum. But I was looking at a cached posting (it was when this site was down the other day), so maybe it has been resolved.

The other thing is a current issue.

Citing multiple texts by the same author in bibliography has been fixed in the dev version, and will be available in the next release, when Zotero 1.0.4 comes out.
