Zotero connector in Google Chrome buggy

It's driving me crazy! For some reason, the save citation icon does not display the list of citations with little checkmark buttons, but instead, directs me to Google Scholar Preferences. I need to deactivate or reinstall the Chrome connector each time in order for it to work. If I decide to make minor changes in Google Scholar Preferences, it again will get stuck on that path, and I cannot save any citations. :(

I get redirected to the settings page at times as well, but I assumed this was by design--it only happens when I'm booted off for scraping too many pdfs, clean my cookies, and start over again--the opening of the settings page reminds me to apply library settings and choose 100 entries per page again, but I suppose this is a lucky accident? :-)
