zotero 2.0 macword integration incompatible with firefox 10.0.2- HELP!

I just upgraded my firefox and when I try to install the macword plug in for word 2011 my computer is telling me that it is incompatible with firefox 10.0.2- the most updated version. What can I do to make them compatible? Or do I need to upgrade to an older version of firefox? If so, which version works with zotero 2.0 for mac?

thank you!
  • Do you really mean Zotero 2.0? That's no longer supported and certainly not compatible with FF10. For FF 10 you will need to use Zotero 3.0.3 and the respective MacWord plugin.
  • I received the same incompatibility message and I'm using Zotero 3.5. Do I need to uninstall Firefox?
  • There also is no Zotero 3.5 - I assume you're referring to the Word plugin (that should indeed be version 3.50? Please carefully check the versions of your software - Zotero (standalone? FF plugin?), Zotero word plugin, python ext, Firefox, OS

You will definitely not have to uninstall Firefox.
  • Yes, the word plugin is 3.5. I'm using Zotero via FF 10.0.5. The error indicates that the plugin is disabled because of incompatibility, and it appears in the Tools/Extension menu of FF.
  • again, please carefully check your versions. There is no such thing as FF 10.0.5. The most recent versions are 10.0.3 and 11.0
You can try re-installing the Zotero word plugin, that might help.
  • I tried it three times and the message is the same. The only thing I haven't rebooted the computer...yet
  • do that first. Then we can see what's next. In that case it'd be useful to get your other version numbers though - OS and python ext.
  • OK, problem solved! I disabled, shut it all down, reopened Word and all is working fine.

    Thanks!
