When clicking on Zotero buttons in Word, they are not responding

Report ID: 1940723244.

I was using Word, happily using Zotero Add-Ins to enter footnotes, but suddenly they stopped working? I.e. when I clicked on the Zotero buttons in Word, they would no longer respond. I had previously shut down the Quick Format Citation button by right clicking and pressing Close. So am wondering if this makes it have an internal breakdown/crisis or something?!
  • Have you tried restarting Firefox/Zotero/the computer?
I think right-click--> close is an odd way to close the window (if you don't have a close button, pressing esc will do) but it shouldn't crash it, no.
  • I am having the same problem. I was able to set up the bibliographic style that I wanted, but after that I got zero response from the Zotero Add-in Toolbar buttons. I am all ready to write my paper! Help, please!
  • MissKimberley - I assume you have restarted your computer?
Next, you want to make sure that the Zotero plugin window isn't just in the background somewhere.
Then, we'll need a report ID
    http://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_bugs
and more info on the set-up your using (version numbers of Zotero, Word, OS).
  • When in doubt, always reboot, right? I just did that, and, voila-I have managed to achieve at least one in text citation! I am brand spanking new to Zotero, so I have no idea whether this means all is working according to Hoyle, or not. I am using Windows 7, 64-bit, and MS Office 2010. I only just downloaded Zotero this past week of two, so I assume I have the latest version for Windows.
Thank you so much for responding to my plea! I will get back to you if I discover I have only solved half of the problem.
  • let's assume this is fixed then. If it keeps recurring frequently come back and we'll troubleshoot it.
