Import Applied and environmental Microbiology style from Zotero to Mendeley

I'm writing an article and i'm using both zotero (to organize the literature related to my topic) and mendeley (to cite the literature and create my bibliography).
Everything is working smoothly only problem is that the style in which mendeley set the bibliography is not correct. I make an example down below:
Wrong!
Boer, V. M., S. L. Tai, Z. Vuralhan, Y. Arifin, M. C. Walsh, M. D. W. Piper, J. H. de Winde, J. T. Pronk, and J.-M. Daran. 2007. Transcriptional responses of Saccharomyces cerevisiae to preferred and nonpreferred nitrogen sources in glucose-limited chemostat cultures. FEMS yeast research 7:604-20
Correct!
Boer V. M., S. L. Tai, Z. Vuralhan, Y. Arifin, M. C. Walsh, M. D. W. Piper, J. H. de Winde, J. T. Pronk, and J.-M. Daran. 2007. Transcriptional responses of Saccharomyces cerevisiae to preferred and nonpreferred nitrogen sources in glucose-limited chemostat cultures. FEMS Yeast Res. 7:604-20

there is a comma after the surname of the first author that shouldn't be there. The name of the journal should be abbreviated and start with a capital letter.

I tried to look in the zotero style repository (http://www.zotero.org/styles ) and i see there is a version of Applied and environmental Microbiology style updated to february 2012. How do i download it and use it IN MENDELEY? If that is also wrong what should i exactly change in the .csl file to have it correct?

Thank you very much for the help!

I don't want to be unpleasant but you should ask this on Mendeley forum. However, according to their FAQ:
A repository of currently available styles can also be found at: http://www.zotero.org/styles. The citation style files used by Mendeley Desktop are located in the "citationStyles" sub-directory of the folder where Mendeley Desktop is installed to. Adding new formatted .csl citation style files, or modifying existing ones will make them available in Mendeley Desktop.

  • I updated the style to remove the comma separating the first author's last name and initials. Apparently the style changed recently in this respect, as the comma is printed in all my own AEM papers. Reinstalling the style from http://www.zotero.org/styles should solve this issue.

As for the journal abbreviations, things are a bit different between Zotero and Mendeley (the former has a separate field in which you can store the journal abbreviation, the latter relies on abbreviation lists, see e.g. http://support.mendeley.com/customer/portal/questions/124632-how-to-enable-journal-abbreviations- ).

Good luck getting your AEM paper published :).
