Mac Lion, Open Office, Firefox freezes/hängt sich auf.

Hallo,

ungefähr nach dem letzten Update hängt sich beim Versuch, eine Quelle einzufügen der Firefox auf (Davor lief alles perfekt). Das sieht dann so aus, dass ich auf "insert citation" gehe, diese in zotero auswähle und dann ist Ende. Im Dokument taucht nur das auf: {Citation}, der Firefox hat sich aufgehangen und ich muss den Prozess beenden. Ich habe schon meine Zotero-Datenbank hochgeladen und geprüft, allerdings ohne Besserung. Ich nutze Lion, Firefox 10.0.1 und Open Office 3.3.0, das Plugin und Zotero sind auf dem neuesten Stand. Jemand eine Idee?

probably since the last update firefox freezes, when trying to insert a citation. when i go to "insert citation", zotero opens and i can choose the citation as usual, but after that all i see is the spinning mac beach ball until i force firefox to quit, the document shows {Citation}, that's it. i allready uploaded it to the db repair tool, but that hasn't changed anything. I use Lion, Firefox 10.0.1 und Open Office 3.3.0, Zotero and Plugin are up to date. Any hints?

    ich würde auf gut glück mal probieren auf LO 3.4 umzusteigen - Ooo ist mittelfristig eh am Ende und 3.4 hat eine ganze Reihe bugfixes. Weiß nicht ob das was hilft aber einen Versuch ist es wert.
    Und benutzt Du den "classic" add citation Dialog oder den neuen Quick Format?

    danke für die antwort. LO hatte ich mir auch schon überlegt, war mir aber nicht sicher, ob ich mein zotero da unfallfrei rüberbekomme. erfahrungen damit? ich benutze den klassischen dialog, weil ich den schon kannte und mich nicht umstellen wollte, wieso?

    Ich bin gegen Ende von meiner Diss auf LO umgestiegen, mehrere größere Kapitel und keine Probleme, würde mir also keine Sorgen machen.

    Ich würde den neuen Dialog mal ausprobieren - wir haben gerade Dokumentation dazu fertig:

    und man ist sehr viel schneller damit.
    Wäre auch interessant, ob das stabiler läuft für Dich.

    Merci, werde ich mal ausprobieren und rückmelden. Kannst du mir kurz erklären, wie ich am einfachsten von OO zu LO wechseln kann? Einfach ganz gewöhnlich installieren und das LO-Plugin erkennt die bestehende Datenbank?

    ja - nach der Installation musst Du wahrscheinlich das word processor plugin re-installieren (aus den Zotero preferences im Cite Tab).

    danke für die schnelle antwort! libreoffice läuft mit dem plugin, open office habe ich deinstalliert. das problem besteht allerdings immer noch, wobei mir aufgefallen ist, dass es nur bei bestimmten quellen auftritt, wobei mir völlig unklar ist, warum genau dort. auch wenn ich die citation lösche und neu anlege, passiert das gleiche nochmal. irgendwie schräg...

    probier mal ob das mit den gleichen Quellen auch im quick format plugin hängt.
    Außerdem guck ob Du nach einem solchen Problem einen error report erstellen (und senden) kannst

    es passiert im quickformat auch, dabei bleibt im dokument auch der rot-weiß-graue balken hängen. ich kann leider keinen error-report erstellen, da ich im firefox auf nichts mehr zugreifen kann. kann ich den report noch woanders im nachhinein ansehen?

    Simon - do you have thoughts on that?
    The Libre Office plugin hangs up FF (versions above) on inserting citations. That happens both in Ooo (3.3) and LO (3.4), both in the classic and in the quickformat dialog, but only with some citations.

    oliku - könntest Du eine oder zwei der fraglichen Quellen exportieren:
    Right-click-->export selected items --> Zotero RDF (no notes or files)
    den File mit TextEdit öffnen, den ganzen inhalt auswählen und kopieren (cmd+a, cmd+c) und dann in das Fensterin gist.github.com einfügen. Unter dem Fenster auf "Create Public Gist" clicken und dann die URL hier posten.

    There is a hanging bug that manifests when: (1) single-field names or names without a name element appear in the cite; (2) givenname disambiguation is in effect with the by-cite rule; (3) the name is rendered with an initialize-with attribute; and (4) disambiguation is triggered b/c there are two cites with the same base form.

    The bug has been fixed, in processor release 1.0.289. If that's the cause here, the fault will go away when the new processor is picked up.

    thx for the answer although i don`t get everything. part of the problem is definitely a citation with a single-field name (and it is a pseudonym ("b2c4")). also there are 4 different parts of the citation with the same name, that are distinguished by part1, part2,...is that what's described with "same base form"? can you explain (3) and (4), i don't understand them, sorry. and how do i pick up the new processor?

    The "basic form" is the form that the citation would take in an a non-numeric style in a subsequent reference (a reference after the first one that is not an ibid reference). The processor uses that form to decide whether disambiguation (i.e. adding a name, or adding an initial) is required to distinguish two cites.

    For the new processor, you'll have to wait a day or two; it's ready, but not yet available.
