Upgrade Storagepersistent error when adding notes in split screen mode

I think I have a repeatable error. I'm on a Vista laptop, running Firefox 10.0.2.
I have a .pdf open in my browser (old scan, not OCR), with Zotero split screen. When I move my cursor from the handtool moving my .pdf up and down in the top half of the screen, down to the text editor in Zotero to type a note, I can't input text. I have to put Zotero into tab mode (or make some other change) in order to be able to type in the Zotero text editor.
Anyone else having this problem?

I believe there's a split screen add-on for Firefox that is known to be incompatible with Zotero.
