Synchronizing several zotero.sqlite's

I consider using zotero as a database for a group of authors writing a book. There is no option for a web-based database and I find that using webdav is unreliable, giving every now and then a zotero.sqlite.damaged file. So a solution would be every now and than synchronizing every authors version of the database.

How can you synchronize several zotero.sqlite's into one updated version?
Thanks,
Janwillem, an sqlite-dummy
  • Not easily.

Import/export is probably your best bet for the time being.
  • I had the same demand. Currently, there are no collaborative features included in Zotero.
Go to the Feature Request section and support the demand for colloborative features.
  • I find Zotero very helpful. I have a need to synchronize zoltero.sqlite between at least two computers. Having reviewed the FAQ and the forum re combining libraries, I note that, using import/export, "links in existing documents to references that you have exported and then reimported will be lost." I prefer to synchronize from one computer (Mac, OS 10.4.x), since in my case the second one (ditto) is not adjacent. Since I'm writing a book just now, and I work at and backup between both computers, some more facile form of frequent synchronizing ala ChronoSync would be helpful. TU.

There is some relatively new documentation on syncing with Zotero 1.0 (See Zotero over a network)

In the next few months the release of Zotero 1.5 will make this considerably easier. (See the development roadmap for more details on that timeline)

    Trevor, your links don't work.
    They do now.
