Advanced search in a group library

Does this feature work in a group library? I can't make it find anything! Txs!

Right-click on the group, New Saved Search. There's currently no way to do an unsaved advanced search within a group.

Why? This seems like a very simple feature? Is this a matter of making time to code this in or is this a specific decision not implement this feature.
From my reading of the forum, it seems that this has been a request since 2009.

Because it hasn't been implemented yet.

Please add me to the list of people who would like to see this implemented. I only use group libraries, so this is basically my only search tool.
