importing bibliographical information from the British Library catalogue

I am using the standalone version but when I open the British library cataloge I do not see a Zotero icon on my webpage. Does that mean that it impossible to automatically import bibliographical references with Zotero standalone? If I use the 'find' tool on the edit menu in Zotero it only serches my existing library. I am new to Zotero and have searched the help on the web in vain. Any advice please?

    The find tool applies to your local library only, yes.

    If you do a search in your browser with the appropriate Zotero connector (i.e. Zotero Chrome Connector or Zotero Safari connector) installed and Zotero Standalone open you should see the Zotero URL bar icon for the British Library Catalog (we're talking about the "Explore the British Library" search, correct?). Is that not the case?
    Sites where you don't see an icon for either searches or individual items won't work directly with Zotero, but the BL should work.
