Same last name, different first name--why treated the same in the bibliography?

I use the ASA style and I have a problem in my bibliography.
I have two different authors with the same last name.
Say A Smith and B Smith.
There is no problem when they published in different years, but I found a problem when they published in the same year. What happens is the following:
Smith, A. 2004a. blahblah
Smith, B. 2004b. blahblah...
But it should appear as:
Smith, A. 2004.
Smith, B. 2004.
because they are not the same person!!!
Could anyone tell me how to fix the csl?
Thanks so much for your help.
  • odd - that shouldn't be the case. I'll take a look.
  • Thank you. This started to happen after I updated the zotero.
  • This looks like another small bug in fairly new disambiguation code. Thanks for reporting, I'll post when it's been fixed in the processor.
  • Actually ... this appears to affect only styles that apply the year suffix implicitly. I've pushed a proposed change to the style, for review by adamsmith, that should fix this immediately.
