Standalone for Safari- can't enable Word Add-In, Report# 264566272

I just downloaded Zotero Standalone for Safari. All is working well, except I can't download the Word add-in without it giving me the error that states, "Installation could not be completed because an error occurred. Please ensure that Microsoft Word is closed, and then restart Firefox." Report ID# 264566272.

I am NOT using Firefox- I am using Safari, since my impression was that Standalone was supported in Safari. I am a Mac user, obviously, and I am trying to sync Zotero with Microsoft Word (for Macs) 2008. Please help!! I have searched these forums for answers and cannot find how to get past this problem.

    The message there is wrong; it should say Zotero Standalone. However, that error message is bizarre, and seems to suggest that something that's supposed to come with Mac OS X is missing. Can you open /Applications/Terminal.app and type the following:

    python2.5 -c 'import MacOS;'
    Let us know what the output is.

    Thanks for responding. My message was wrong? I'm confused. Regardless, I restarted my computer, messed around with it for a few hours (not quite sure what I did) and all the sudden the add-in downloaded. Why? Not sure! But it seems to be working. Thank you!! If there seems to be issued down the road I'll re-post.

    Simon was just saying that the message needs to be fixed to not say "Firefox"—that's just a holdover from before there was a Zotero Standalone.

    Yes- I agree. That was one of the things that got me pretty confused- it made me wonder if I had downloaded the wrong program, or if there was a glitch. Anyways, thank you all for your helpful responses!
