Sync is starting, notes are merged and the sync is running. Too long time - or?

I start sync. "Processing updated data" runs for at while. I then gets the opportunity to chose between different versions of notes. I chose and the porcess goes on. Then the following text is shown:

One of more locally celeted Zotero collections have been modyfied remotedly since last sync. The remote versions have been kept. View the error consolc for at full list of such changes.

Then the sync goes on for hours and hours. 5-6 f.eks.

Under the green arrow the text says "Getting updated data from the server" Last sync 7 days ago.

How long time shall I let the system run?
24 hours f.eks.

I have a couple of thousands itoms in my system. A number in double versions.

    Restart Zotero and try again, and post here when you do.

    Thank You for your help. When I returned to the computer, I got the merge-message, may be the same items as last time. Said Yes and now the green symbol is not turning any more - The text says: Last sync: 34 minutes ago.
    That means that I can start to go through the database and add the tags in the right places.
    And now I take backup very often.
