I experience problems in word 2011 for mac. When I try to set my zotero document preferences (or try to exert any other action in the document via zotero) in a document produced on another computer, I get the error message: "zotero experienced an error updating your document". Is there a way for me to use zotero in that document on my new computer?

    I retried to set the document preferences in the word document, which I started writing on another computer (PC and word 2007 zotero standalone ver. 3.0b2.1) than I'm writing on now (mac and word 2011 zotero for firefox ver. 2.1.10).
    The error message I get is still: Zotero experienced an error updating your document.

    If you had the "Store References in Document" option checked (the default) in the document settings while using Zotero 3.0b the document won't work in 2.1.10.
    You should either update your local version of Zotero, or you can go back to the computer with 3.0 and uncheck that option in the Document Preferences, refresh citations, save, and it should work.

    Thank you very much Adam! I uninstalled the zotero add-on for firefox since I couldn't figure out, how to update it manually. Now I use the most recent version of zotero standalone. And the problem seems to be solved!

    (you can update the version in FF simply by installing the Zotero 3.0rc version for FF)

    I installed the Zotero 3.0rc version for FF, so now it works perfectly without me having to use the standalone! Thanks a lot for your help!
