Zotero will not open linked files - HELP please!
Hello,
We have some issues today with Zotero and/or Firefox : although the links to the files saved in our library seem to work just fine, they're impossible to open in the Firefox browser.
I tried some of the procedures indicated in some of the conversations on the forum but I'm not sure it is the same kind of issue. There is no error message nor crash from any program. I can open PDF files via Firefox, including the ones in the library (so I don't think they're broken), but if I ask Zotero to do that by double-clicking or requesting to open the file it won't work. I uninstalled/reinstalled Adobe Reader, tried disabling the Firefox plugins, and it doesn't do anything... I don't know what to try now ! So, any kind of help would be welcome !! Thanks !

What OS are you using?
Do other linked files work or is this just with PDFs?
(Try to grab a snapshot and see if you can view it in your browser.)
What happens if you select a PDF and then click the "View Snapshot" button in the right column?
I use Windows XP;
Other types of files won't work either, although we mainly have PDFs in our database. Webpages included in the library do not open.
And one of the 2 "View Snapshot" buttons works fine (the one that opens the file where the document is stored), which is why I believe the links are not broken. All the references are saved, too.
Also, here is what I get on the Mozilla console log when I try to open a linked file on the library (if this can be of any help):
zotero(5): SELECT linkedItemID FROM itemSeeAlso WHERE itemID=?1 UNION SELECT ite
mID FROM itemSeeAlso WHERE linkedItemID=?1
zotero(5): Binding parameter 1 of type int: 8882
zotero(5): SELECT linkMode, path FROM itemAttachments WHERE itemID=8882
zotero(3): MIME type application/pdf can be handled by plugins
zotero(5): SELECT linkMode, path FROM itemAttachments WHERE itemID=8882
Once this is done, nothing happens :S
And you're saying that HTML snapshots don't load either, when you click the View Snapshot button? (I assume you're saying that it's the Show File button that works.)
Sorry if my translations lack of accurracy (I actually have the french Mozilla and Zotero versions.) HTML files or any kind of link stored in the library won't open either.
The debug log I linked was all I got after trying to open a file.
Here is the Report I got today when I tried the operation again :
[JavaScript Error: "uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [mozIStorageStatement.executeStep]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://zotero/content/xpcom/db.js :: anonymous :: line 86" data: no] [QUERY: SELECT translatorID, translatorType, label, target, detectCode IS NULL as noDetectCode FROM translators ORDER BY priority, label] [ERROR: database disk image is malformed]"]
Thanks again for helping !
