"Insert citation" popup not working properly in MS Word

Need help. My work has ground to a complete halt due to this problem. I'm just realizing how much my workflow has depended upon Zotero.

For no apparent reason, the "Z"-labeled pane that pops up when you click on the "insert citation" button is not showing properly. I see only the upper half of the pane, and the pane does not expand downward when I type a reference.

I can't think of anything that I may have done to significatly change my system or Firefox. I installed a couple of add-ons to Firefox that I have since removed, fearing they may be rogue.

Even the classic view doesn't work. The "z" pane just stalls when I press the Z letter and click on "classic view".

Any immediate fix for this?

    Can you try generating a report ID after re-triggering the issue?

    Can you try installing the 3.0 branch XPI and see if it fixes your issue? If not, can you generate another report ID with it?

    Yes!!! That fixed it.
    Do I need to know what caused it so it won't happen again to my Zotero going forward?

    No. It didn't fix it.
    The "Z" pane is back, now with the lower half, but it seems to have no connection to my Zotero database.

    That report ID looks like it's from Zotero 3.0b3, not the branch XPI. Did you restart Firefox after installing the branch XPI?

    Can you be more specific about what you mean by "it seems to have no connection to my Zotero database"? There's an error there, but it's not obvious what it is.

    Even when I type in a reference (author or title), nothing comes up in the "Z" pane. The library is still intact, but I can't insert any citation from within Word.

    Can you generate a debug ID? Does the classic add citation dialog work?

    Debug ID for which one? Because I have work on my paper, I've removed Zotero 3 and reinstalled 2.1. Do you need a debug ID for the working 2.1 or non-working 3?

    The classic add citation from 2.1 works. The classic add citation from 3 doesn't work. As a matter of fact, I can't even bring up the classic view in 3.0 The "Z" pane just stalls when I click the "classic view" button in 3.0.

    We'd need a debug ID from the branch XPI above to troubleshoot further.

    I'm trying to reproduce this but I haven't been successful. Does adding a citation work in a new document? If it does, would you mind emailing your broken document to support@zot..org?
