Error in standalone when syncing

I think it's to do with one of the fields having too many characters.
There are over 2000 refs in the collection, imported from Endnote, so I can't manually edit the field for each ref.
Not too bothered about whether the sync works or not.
I'm new to Zotero. Really like the PDF-search feature.

    Your copy of Zotero is repeatedly trying to download your full library from the server. If you're running 2.1, note that Firefox may freeze temporarily as it attempts to process the download. (In 3.0 it will display a nicer progress bar.) Don't force-quit Firefox or it will just happen again.

    I think the Firefox Zotero installation fails somehow. (Helpful message on the Zotero icon at bottom left of Firefox says 'There was an error starting Zotero'.) Attempted re-installation didn't help.
    I was trying to use the standalone anyway- Chrome seems less prone to having plug-ins crash than Firefox, and is therefore my preferred browser.

    Er, well, I meant Zotero Standalone itself if that's what you're using. My comment above still applies to that.

    Still no successful syncing.
    I imported a large Endnote library into the standalone.
    It has never coped with this well enough to sync.
    Not a problem for using the standalone zotero on my work pc.
