missing item type - edited volume

I would like to cite an edited volume (an example below). Unfortunately, this item type seems to be missing. Is there any fix for this (planned)? The lack of this feature would probably imply switching back to Endnote. That would be a pity as I started to enjoy Zotero!

Many thanks.

  • I'm not sure to understand.
In zotero, the creator type can be changed by clicking on the descriptor (author, editor, etc.).
Is this ok? Otherwise, what's your citation style ?
  • Oh I see (I did not get this from searching in the documentation/forums, but I probably should have).

But it seems that Zotero would not import edited volumes entries from Endnote-generated RIS file correctly. They appear as books with 'author' as creator type.

    Many thanks.

Strange, but I'm not a specialist of import from Endnote. I think someone (ajlyon?) might help you to fix that.
  • That's likely an Endnote problem and I'm not sure how much we can do about it - I believe Endnote a separate item type for "Edited Volumes" (with no corresponding item type in RIS) and then saves the editors as authors (which then get exported to AU or A1 - the author fields for RIS). I'm not 100% sure about this - if you paste an Endnote RIS output for a book chapter here I'd be able to tell you for sure.
