sync WITHOUT install or portable firefox?

Is it possible to sync without install or portable Firefox?

If not, it would be incredibly useful to have an option like Delicious.com, where we could log into our Zotero.org account through a browser to add or sync citations through a (non-install) web interface.
  • What do you mean by syncing through a web interface?

There is not yet a way to add references through a web interface, but it is planned.

Thanks, Yes, through a web interface. For the kids I teach, this seems like a natural thing to do, like updating a facebook account through any browser, etc.

By syncing, I only meant that modifying the citations through a web interface would propagate back to our installed versions of Zotero later.
  • I believe that this is intended to be part of Zotero Everywhere, which should be coming relatively soon.
  • one year later...is ist now possible to add items in the web interface automatically?
  • yes - but why ask? Just try it out.
  • How? I can only add new entrys manually, i have to type every field like author, title...
  • Right. Zotero is not citeUlike.
Currently you need something installed to use its translators, i.e. to get data automatically.
Right now the "something" is a connector (Safari/Chrome) or the FF extension. In the future this may be possible via bookmarklet, but that's not imminent.

The person starting this thread referred to "modifying the citations through a web interface would propagate back to our installed versions of Zotero later" which is possible now.
