install aborting on Lubuntu

Global install disregards sudo login.
Local install fails at menu

    what are you installing exactly? The standalone Zotero doesn't install on linux, it just runs, unless you're using someone's install script, in which case you'd have to mention that.

    Fair enough, I was using an install script. Should have mentioned that and checked with the author. Sorry about that.

    But what do you mean "it just runs?" It downloads as a compressed file with no instructions I could find. Granted I had just finished cleaning and reinstalling the computer in question so was not in the best mood. Still I don't see how it "just runs." I'm obviously missing something but I do not know what.

    you unpack the tarball and then you just run "zotero" either by double-clicking or from the terminal once you moved to the folder in question.
