is anyone reading e-mails to campus-reps@zotero.org?

sorry to put this on the forum but i've received no response to 3 queries.

thanks.
  • probably not at the moment or at least not regularly.
Best to post queries here. Zotero currently doesn't have a community liaison.
  • I write from a museum library, where we are spreading the word of Zotero.

A curator here is adopting it for a major project, also Mellon funded.

We have learned the basics but would really like to consult with an expert. I understand that Zotero is very DIY/forum-oriented but we'd really like to go the extra distance.

I have sought training in the NYC area but haven't been able to work it out, especially for in-depth questions.

Within reason we could fund travel for two of us to Zoteroland, or we could fund a guru to come here.

I would appreciate ideas on this.
  • My understanding is that "Zoteroland" is actually quite decentralized. While the project is at GMU, even the core devs - Dan Stillman and Simon here on the forum - usually aren't.

I know of at least three people - ajlyon, Rintze, and myself who aren't formally part of Zotero but who have in depth knowledge of Zotero and its components and have given workshops at libraries and similar institutions in the past. (Obviously I have no idea if Rintze or Avram would be available or interested).

If you could describe a little more what type of "in-depth" you're looking for I could tell you if that's something that one of us could maybe provide or what other people/possibilities there are. To give you a sense, here's a summary of a one-day workshop that Avram (ajlyon) did at the Newberry library in Chicago:

Shameless plug: I currently live just 5 hours (by car) away from NYC. That said, if you could elaborate on the kind of information you're seeking we can see who of us has the best background.

I live a good deal further, five hours by plane (Los Angeles), but I'd also be thrilled to work with you on this. We (people at CHNM, Sebastian, Rintze) can chat by forum, email, or even phone to figure out what works for you. The other non-CHNM person with very deep knowledge of the systems and what they can do is Frank Bennett, but he's out in Japan and probably too far for something like this.
  • awesome! sean takats was in touch. presumably he'll follow these developments, too.

i sent a summary of specifics. perhaps best to coordinate with sean, or happy to correspond off-list.
