Syncing two computers

Hi. I set up two Zotero accounts for my home desktop and laptop, and it's not syncing. I've read the past discussions and I believe both PCs have the latest Firefox... The username is: rk375
  • You need to have one account only and use it in both computers. Make sure that you have entered this in the preferences in both computers and then click the sync arrow. If that does not work, you need to explain what happens instead (e.g. is there an error message)
  • I'm only using the username rk375 and the same password to log in in the preferences in both computers. There is no error message.
  • What happes when you click on the sync arrow? Does it start spinning?
  • It starts spinning then says it's been synced, but the items in the other computer are not there.
  • Can you see the items when you click "My library" on this web page. Also, did you sync the other computer as well?
  • more generally:

  • Thanks, I've read the above. So: I installed Zotero on my desktop (A) first; opened an account; set up Sync in the preference; installed Zotero on my laptop (B); logged into the my account; set up Sync preferences in (B); the items in "My library" are missing the items in (A) - ones I originally created. The Sync does spin and ends, but no error message.
  • "Can you see the items when you click "My library" on this web page?"
  • Yes, I do, but as I said it's not complete. It doesn't have the items added to my desktop.
  • Create another new item and try syncing again - I find this hard to believe.
To the best of my knowledge there hasn't been a single confirmed instances of syncing failing silently, so my suspicion is still that you're either overlooking something or doing something wrong.
