Data retrieval

Hey,

My computer crashed a couple of days ago and I had to reinstall everything. On this occasion, I discovered that my Zotero library is gone. Unfortunately, I didn't have an account before to retrieve it with the option 'Sync'. Could anyone tell me whether or not it is possible to retrieve my library and how?

    Depends on what you mean by reinstalling. If you deleted everything from your harddrive and did not have backups, then it is not possible to recover. If you have backups, then it is possible to recover the Zotero data by copying it from the backed up firefox profile directory to your new profile directory.

    As mronkko says, it depends. Check out this link: http://www.zotero.org/support/zotero_data. Scroll down to the troubleshooting section for some more ideas.

    Did you use a custom data directory before? Maybe the new install is looking in the wrong place. (This assumes the data hasn't been wiped out...a disturbing, yet possible scenario. :( )
