Error when inviting members

I created a private group, but when i try to invite members i get: Error
Server Error. Something went wrong processing your request. The invitation is not sent to the member. I have tried inviting both existing zotero people as well as by email address. Has anyone experienced this and know a solution. Thanks.

    A couple of problems have been fixed. The server was generating an error when an invitation was sent to someone who had already been invited (or who was already a member of the group).

    Also note that by default email notifications are off, so existing users will not get emails on invitations unless they have changed their settings. That also includes invitations by email address if we recognize the address.

    You should be able to see existing invitations at the bottom of the "Members" page under group settings. If you're still having trouble please let us know.

    Unfortunately still having problems. The group shows as having 1 member (me) and no pending invitations. I have tried to invite both Zotero users and by email.

    The Zotero user did not receive notification of the invitation (despite having notifications enabled), nor does it show on the user's group page under Invitations.

    The email address received the invitation but after clicking it and registering, received the "An error has occurred screen" on the groups page with the group id in the URL.

    So it looks like the invitation got entered into the database as an application somehow, and you couldn't see it because private groups wouldn't generally have applications. You should see an application on the group member settings page now. I'm looking into how this happened, but if you don't see the application, or there are still access problems after you approve it let me know.

    Also if you still get any errors when you try to send invitations to different users please report those.

    edit: The group wasn't by any chance a Public Closed membership group before it was private?

    I see from the above that others have had the same problem as me.

    I created a private group. It is possible that I created it as a Public Closed membership group and then changed it.

    I spent about 30 minutes getting everyone's email and then writing instructions. I send the invitations.

    Nothing happened. I have no pending invitations. I tried just inviting me at another email address and my invitation, like the others, doesn't register.

    This is an important group and setting it up is time sensitive. What can I do to get it to work?

    avatarmh. This is an unrelated issue and you should start a new thread if you continue to have problems, but make sure the emails are separated by commas. If they're not it will silently fail (that will be fixed shortly).

    You dropped the clue with the question of whether I started with a Public Closed group.

    Basically, I deleted the group and started anew with the private designation at the outset.

    All is copesetic other than the fact that I can't delete groups on my local zotero. I will start this a new issue.

    Hi,

    I also have a problem with an invitation which I probably have sent out a year ago, but is not listed as a pending invitation. The receipient did not answer at that time and I now want to repeat the invitation.
    Any solution to the problem?

    This is unrelated, you should start a new thread if you continue to have problems.
    Is something preventing you from sending an invitation to this person in the usual way?
