MS Word 2007

I am writing a document with MS Word 2007. At some point it became impossible to insert any new citation (document update error). No hints from the debug output. Changing the styles, open-close word/firefox, reinstalling WordIntegration does not help. I am using zotero 3.0b2, zotero WordIntegration 3.1.2, the storage dir is junction to the dropbox folder (where the dir is physically located). Can this be a problem? I would appreciate any help to find even a temporal solution.
  • If your zotero.sqlite is in the dropbox folder that's always a potential source of problems, yes.
    You could try this.

  • Thank you for the prompt answer, zotero.sqlite is not in the dropbox, only the storage folder. To my previous message I would like to add that the problem persists also in Word 2011 for Mac. Two different Zotero installations (stand alone on mac and firefox add-on on win xp), different versions of MS Word (11 on mac and 07 on xp), same problem! At least it is consistent.

    I followed the recommendations to debug broken documents. Here is a short report in a hope for some ideas from the community.

    1) Track Changes off;
    2) Copying and pasting the document content into a new document does not help.
    3) Switching to a different bibliography style does not help
    4) The document has a bibliography, after deleting it is not possible to put it back.
    5) The log file is showing some cryptic messages:
    (3)(+0000000): Integration: style.processCitationCluster(({citationItems:[#2={id:15, item:#1={id:15, type:"article-journal", title:"GW approximations and vertex corrections on the Keldysh time-loop contour: application for model systems at equilibrium", 'container-title':"arXiv:1106.1094", abstract:"We provide the formal extension of Hedin's GW equations for single-particle Green's functions with electron-electron interaction onto the Keldysh time-loop contour. We show an application of our formalism to the plasmon model of a core electron within the plasmon-pole approximation. We study in detail the diagrammatic perturbation expansion of the core-electron/plasmon coupling on the spectral functions of the so-called S-model which provides an exact solution, concentrating especially on the effects of self-consistency and vertex corrections on the GW self-energy. For the S-model, self-consistency is essential for GW-like calculations to obtain the full spectral information. The second- order exchange diagram (i.e. a vertex correction) is crucial to obtain a better spectral description of the plasmon peak and side-band peaks in comparison to GW-like calculations. However, the vertex corrections are well reproduced within a non-self-consistent calculation. We also consider conventional equilibrium GW calculations for the pure jellium model. We find that with no second-order vertex correction, we cannot obtain the full set of plasmon side-band peaks. Finally, we address the issues of formal connection for the Dyson equations of the time-ordered Green's function and the Keldysh Green's functions at equilibrium in the cases of zero and finite temperature.", URL:"http://arxiv.org/abs/1106.1094", shortTitle:"GW approximations and vertex corrections on the Keldysh time-loop contour", author:[{family:"Ness", given:"H."}, {family:"Dash", given:"L. Any help is greatly appreciated
  • This looks like a bug in Zotero 3.0b2 that I've already tracked down. It will be fixed in the next release. There is a specific item in your document that no longer exists in your Zotero database, and there's a bug in the support for embedded metadata in 3.0b2 that breaks this. You could track down the problematic citation(s) by following the steps on debugging broken documents, although you may need to restart Firefox in between tests.
  • Dear Simon,

    would it be possible to patch the beta version, or it is better to wait until the final release of Zotero 3.0?
  • There will be another beta version, but it isn't yet available.
