Citation format random?

The use of initials looks almost random in my citations. I am using version 3b2 with Journal of Wildlife Management.
Examples:
Robbins et al. 1989
T.W. Sherry and R.T. Holes 1996
Norris 2005
Runge and Peter P. Marra 2005
Webster, Peter P. Marra, et al. 2002
R. Greenberg et al. 2000

Based on the Journal of Wildlife Management website initials or first names are not used. I am going to reinstall v2 and see if there is a difference. First and second authors should not be used with an et. al
  • The problem seems better, but there are still two problems.
1.) I can no longer edit citations in the document in which I was using 3b2
2.) There are still formatting problems:
    3b2: (Newton 2004, Norris 2005, Runge and Peter P. Marra 2005, T.W. Sherry and R.T. Holmes 1996, Webster, Peter P. Marra, et al. 2002)
2.1:(Newton 2004, Norris 2005, Runge and Marra 2005, Sherry and R.T. Holmes 1996, Webster et al. 2002)). ['R.T. Holmes' should only be 'Holmes']
So I think I just go back to 3b2 and wait for the formatting issues to be fixed..
  • if I understand correctly, have a look here: http://www.zotero.org/support/kb/given_name_disambiguation
otherwise provide more detail. Zotero doesn't - can't - do random things. Version 2.1 and 3.0 won't make a differences.
  • That makes a lot of sense thank you.
