Future Medicine journals

Hello, I'm looking for a zotero style for the journal 'Future Medicine', they have several journals that all use the same style and was surprised no style for any future medicine was found searching 'future'... maybe it is exactly like another named style, please let me know if that is the case, otherwise would like to request a style according to the following:

References should be denoted numerically and in sequence in the text, using Arabic numerals placed in square brackets, i.e., [12].
If websites or patents are included, please use a separate numbering system for them, i.e., start numbering website references at [101] and patents at [201] to allow the reader to distinguish between websites/patents and primary literature references both in the text and in the bibliography.

Format
• Author’s names should appear without full stops in their initials
• Quote first six authors’ names. If there are more than six, then quote first three et al
• A full stop follows authors’ names.
• Journal name should be in italics and abbreviated to standard format
• Volume number followed by comma, not bold
• Page number range separated by a hyphen with no spaces, followed by the year in brackets, and then a full stop
• Should be numerically listed in the reference section in the order that they occur in the text.
• Should appear as a number i.e., [1,2] in the text.
• If websites or patents are included, please use a separate numbering system for them, i.e.,
start numbering website references at [101] and patents at [201] to allow the reader to
distinguish between websites/patents and primary literature references both in the text and
in the bibliography.
• Quote first six authors’ names. If there are more than six, then quote first three et al.

There are RefMan and EndNote styles listed on this link if there is a way to automatically convert those to zotero: http://www.futuremedicine.com.proxy.library.vanderbilt.edu/page/authors.jsp

Thank you for any help!

start with Vancouver (brackets) from the repository.

The rules for patents and websites can't be done. I'd recommend just adding those manually.
  • thanks, agree can manually do the patents/website things- the vancouver brackets worked for in text formatting, but bibliography itself still requires:

    • Author’s names should appear without full stops in their initials
    • Quote first six authors’ names. If there are more than six, then quote first three et al
    • A colon follows authors’ names.
    • Journal name should be in italics and abbreviated to standard format
    • Volume number followed by comma, not bold
    • Page number range separated by a hyphen with no spaces, followed by the year in brackets, and then a full stop

    for example:

Fantl JA, Cardozo L, McClish DK et al.: Estrogen therapy in the management of urinary incontinence in postmenopausal women: a meta-analysis. Obstet. Gynecol. 83(1), 12–18 (1994).

    Appreciate any further updating, thanks.
  • A style is now up. I followed the guidelines and used a period and not a colon after the author's name. Please test and let me know if there are any problems. I'll add the other styles once we know this is more or less correct.
  • thanks looks good to me- interesting the articles published online don't have the colon, so not sure why their description isn't exactly the same as what appears to be publishing now, I've put a question into their editor and will update if hear anything clarifying, for now this meets our needs, thanks.
  • where are you getting the colon from? It's not in the guide you linked to.
  • that is so strange, i cut and pasted that list and example from above I thought from that same link, but now it doesn't say that, maybe they updated or i was on a different document somehow, thanks for catching!
  • OK, all their journals are now up, too.
  • Hey

The style works on the citations within the document.

The only thing is that I cant generate a list of references (bibliography) at the end of the same document.

    Can you help?
  • could you clarify what "can't generate" means? You are clicking the "insert bibliography" button, right? and then?
  • yes i click that insert bibliography and a dialogue box, saying that the style cant generate list. Please use another style.

What I did subsequently is to change the style to, say Vancouver with Brackets, and insert bibliography, and then change style back to Future Med. Now the bibliography changed style to the Future Med style.

Also, subsequently I have no problem insert bibliography using this style in a new document.

    Probably it is a one-off-problem.

yeah, let's not worry about that.
If you ever have this problem again, please create and send an error report right after it occurs and post the report ID here
    http://www.zotero.org/support/reporting_bugs
but otherwise no reason to worry.
