How to format citations e.g. (see Adams 2004)

Hi,

I am just trying to finalize the references for my PhD thesis. In a number of places I want to created citations within the text in different formats e.g. (see Adams 2004) or (e.g. Adams 2004) rather than (Adams 2004) and I just can't work out how to do this.

If I insert a citation into the text it automatically comes up as (Adams 2004). I can then edit it so it appears in the format I want (e.g. Adams 2004) - but then when I shut down the file and reopen it, it switches itself back to (e.g.(Adams 2004).

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Christine
  • When you open a particular reference for editing (via the Zotero plugin) you'll see a Prefix and a Suffix field. If you put your signals in the Prefix field, it should do what you want.
  • Brilliant - thank you so much!!
